Macau.- The Macau Government Tourist Office (MGTO) director,\u00a0Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes<\/strong>,\u00a0<\/strong>has said she expects Macau to receive over 960,000 visitors\u00a0during the Chinese New Year Golden Week<\/strong>. That translates to an average of 120,000 daily visitor arrivals.\u00a0Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan are expected to be the main source markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n According to reports,\u00a080 to 90 per cent of Macau hotel rooms are already booked<\/a>\u00a0for the holiday period.\u00a0Macau\u2019s GGR for the first 4 days of February<\/a>\u00a0was\u00a0MOP2.5bn (US$310.3m)<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/strong>The figure is similar to January when the city saw a\u00a0GGR of MOP19.34bn (US$2.4bn)<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Tang Ka Man<\/strong>, vice-president of the Association of Macao Tourist Agents, has noted that there will be fewer group tours during Chinese New Year due to the increased cost of transportation and hotel rates.
