It expects to collect approximately Rs 75bn (US$903.6m) in the current fiscal year.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The government imposed\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/gst-council-confirms-28-gaming-tax-to-start-from-october-1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">a 28 per cent tax on online gaming<\/a> in October. In the October-December quarter alone, <strong>the tax generated Rs 35bn (US$421.6m)<\/strong>, an increase over the Rs 16bn (US$192.7m) collected in the previous year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Malhotra said <a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/sc-to-hear-final-arguments-on-28-gst-on-online-gaming-industry-in-april\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">an audit of the framework<\/a> would take place in April, clarifying that this review does not necessarily mean a change in tax rates.
