However, this rebound was described as sluggish compared to other pachinko halls within the group, leading to sustained losses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite Okura&#8217;s continuous efforts to promote pachinko and pachislot games at K\u2019s Plaza Ohato, the slow pace of recovery prompted the closure.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The property housing the Pachinko Hall is company-owned, and management is contemplating leasing the building for rental income to ensure a stable cash flow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last September,&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/okura-holdings-revenue-up-13-in-h1\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Okura Holdings reported a 13 per cent year-on-year revenue increase<\/a>&nbsp;in the first half of 2023, to approximately JPY6,284m (US$42m).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Okura will now manage 10 pachinko halls across Japan<\/strong>, operating under the trading names \u201cBig Apple\u201d and \u201cK\u2019s Plaza.\u201d Last May, the company also closed its\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/okura-holdings-to-close-another-pachinko-parlour\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Big Apple, Ofuna Pachinko Hall<\/a>, located in Kanagawa Prefecture.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Okura Holdings is closing down its K&#8217;s Plaza Ohato Hall in Nagasaki City due to its deteriorating financial performance and the resulting low customer traffic.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":176,"featured_media":17238,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"is_press_release":false,"is_interview":false,"is_opinion":false,"focusai_summary":"Okura Holdings is closing its K\u2019s Plaza Ohato Hall in Nagasaki City, effective January 14, 2024, citing deteriorating operational and financial performance since January 2020 and sluggish post-pandemic recovery compared to other group assets.
