Marcos has ordered anti-money laundering actions and collaborations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
The Philippines.- President\u00a0Marcos Jr<\/strong>\u00a0has set a target for the country’s removal from the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) Grey List by October.\u00a0He ordered the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) <\/strong>to intensify efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In a Facebook post, Marcos stated: “We’ve directed the AMLC to accelerate action plans to combat money laundering and counter-terrorist financing and to file cases against violators. We’re committed to safeguarding our OFWs by making their transactions safer, reducing costs, and easing regulatory burdens to support them.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n During a meeting at Malaca\u00f1ang, AMLC executive director\u00a0Matthew David\u00a0<\/strong>said the president had issued an order to Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas governor\u00a0Eli Remolona Jr<\/strong> reiterating the government’s high-level political commitment and directing all government agencies concerned\u00a0to promptly address the remaining strategic deficiencies<\/strong>\u00a0identified by the FATF.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
