Choi was previously the secretary for national integration for the Presidential Secretariat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Lee Sam-Geol<\/strong>\u00a0stepped down last week. He was\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/kangwon-land-appoints-lee-sam-geol-as-new-ceo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">appointed in April 2021<\/a>\u00a0for a three-year term to replace Moon Tae-Gon, who was promoted to interim chairman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>South Korean news outlets have reported that political figures, community representatives, and some company personnel had been pushing for Lee\u2019s resignation, claiming there had been a \u201clack of communication\u201d and neglect of local small businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In June, Kangwon Land received a D grade in the government\u2019s annual public organisation performance evaluation, the lowest rating it has ever received.&nbsp;The report cited various such as lack of customer-attracting content, inefficient labour costs, workplace sexual harassment and bullying, and corruption related to staff recruitment.
