The figure was up 216 per cent when compared to the same period last year.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The rebound is logical given that there were Covid-19-related travel restrictions in place last year. <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-ggr-up-30-6-in-october\" target=\"_blank\">In October<\/a>, Macau\u2019s GGR was up 30.6 per cent\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-ggr-down-13-2-in-september\" target=\"_blank\">month-on-month<\/a>\u00a0and 400.2 per cent from last October. Cumulatively, Macau\u2019s GGR for the first ten months of 2023 stands at MOP148.44bn (US$18.44bn), up 315.6 per cent compared to the same period in 2022.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Macau started new 10-year gaming concessions on January 1 with an effective tax rate of 40 per cent on casino gross gaming revenue. Earlier this week,\u00a0<strong>Ho Iat Seng<\/strong>, Macau\u2019s chief executive, said that Macau won\u2019t reach its <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-ggr-to-reach-us22-3bn-in-2023-ce-says\" target=\"_blank\">GGR target for this year<\/a>.
