The High Court has paused a demand for Rs 6.28bn (US$75.5m) in back taxes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

India.-\u00a0Delta Corp<\/strong>\u00a0has announced that it had received a temporary halt from the Sikkim High Court on a demand for back tax of Rs 6.28bn (US$75.5m) linked to the operation of\u00a0Casino Deltin Denzong<\/strong>\u00a0in Sikkim. The demand was issued by the Directorate General of GST Intelligence in Hyderabad;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Delta Corp had filed a writ petition challenging the demand. The court’s order, dated October 20, maintains the status quo until the next hearing. The court issued notice to all parties on the interim application and requested replies from the Union of India, DGGI, State of Sikkim, GST Council and other respondents within two weeks <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s been reported that Delta Corp faces\u00a0an additional tax shortfall notice<\/a>\u00a0amounting to Rs 63.84bn (US$766.8m).
