Macau received 2.3 million visitors during the month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Macau.- The Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) has reported that Macau received about 2.3 million visitors visitors in September. The figure represents a decrease of 28.6 per cent\u00a0when compared to the previous month\u00a0but a rise of 312.5 per cent on year-on-year terms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Overnight visitors and day trippers experienced year-on-year growth rates of over 300 per cent with 1.17 million and 1.13 million visitors respectively. The average length of stay for visitors decreased by 0.4 days year-on-year to 1.4 days. Overnight stays fell by 1-day to 2.5 days while same-day visits remained unchanged at 0.2 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The number of visitors from mainland China rose by 216.2 per cent to 1.59 million. There was a 296.8 per cent rise in Individual Visit Scheme travellers to 746,605. Visitors from the Greater Bay Area rose by 153.6 per cent to 749,926, primarily from Zhuhai and Guangzhou.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the first nine months of 2023, Macau has reported a 356.6 per cent year-on-year growth in visitor arrivals to 19.93 million. Overnight visitors were 10.24 million and same-day visitors 9.62 million, up 486.7 per cent and 270 per cent respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) reported that Macau received more than five million arrivals from Hong Kong<\/a> in the first nine months of this year. That equates to 27 per cent of the total arrival number of 17.6 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
