During a press conference, Arie said 237,096 originated from internet protocol (IP) addresses, 17,235 from file-sharing platforms and 171,175 from social media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s not exactly clear what is meant by online gambling contact. It&#8217;s possibly a combination of websites and adverts. The government says it has adopted a collaborative approach with internet service providers to block access to such materials. The Ministry of Communication and Information Technology has been working with social media platforms including Google,\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/indonesia-demands-meta-remove-online-gambling-content-in\" target=\"_blank\">Meta<\/a> and TikTok to eliminate online gambling-related advertisements,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Financial Services Authority (OJK) blocked 2,760 accounts from July 17, 2023, to October 16, 2023, and the ministry has urged the Bank of Indonesia (BI) to intensify controls.
