Hong Kong China&#8217;s Asian Games Medallists Celebration Raceday took place at the Sha Tin Racecourse on October 22.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Hong Kong team won 53 medals, breaking its previous records. Through the Jockey Club Athlete Incentive Awards Scheme (JCAIAS), the HKJC awarded <strong>HK$32.5m (US$4.16m) <\/strong>in prizes to 80 medallists representing 18 sports disciplines. Attendees included government officials, national sports associations&#8217; representatives, and Chan Kwok-ki, the chief secretary for the administration of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sixteen athletes from the fencing team won nine medals and received cash incentives of HK$4.5m. Five athletes from the rowing team were presented with cash incentives of HK$3.25m. Rowers Lam San-tung and Wong Wai-chun, who won the gold medal in the men\u2019s pair event, said: \u201cWe have worked extremely hard to prepare for the Asian Games. Bringing home the first gold medal at this Asian Games is incredibly exciting.
