Thes operation, which targeted a wide range of criminal offences, covered 566,000 cases overall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last year, Chinese authorities signed\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/china-and-thailand-to-strengthen-cooperation-to-combat-online-gambling\" target=\"_blank\">various cooperation agreements<\/a>\u00a0with countries in the region to combat online and cross-border gambling. In 2020, the Chinese government established\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/china-continues-to-expand-gambling-blacklist\" target=\"_blank\">a blacklist of destinations<\/a>\u00a0to which cross-border transfers are restricted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>blacklist<\/strong>\u00a0is compiled by multiple departments, including the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Public Security. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These actions were reinforced by amendments under Article 303 of China&#8217;s Criminal Law, implemented last March.
