Its annual report released on Thursday revealed that more than<strong> 60,000<\/strong> <strong>transactions <\/strong>suspected of being connected to gambling were flagged last year.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The association identified 4,292 payment accounts and 54 merchants allegedly engaged in gambling-related actions, although it did not detail the methodology it uses. This action aligns with mainland China&#8217;s broader efforts to clamp down on overseas gambling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In July,\u00a0<strong>China\u2019s National Immigration Administration<\/strong>\u00a0announced that\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/china-32000-arrested-over-cross-border-gambling-in-h1\" target=\"_blank\">32,000 people were arrested in 16,000 cases<\/a>\u00a0of obstructing national border control in the first six months of the year. In 2020, China established\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/china-continues-to-expand-gambling-blacklist\" target=\"_blank\">a blacklist of destinations<\/a>\u00a0to which cross-border transfers are restricted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<strong>blacklist<\/strong>&nbsp;is compiled by multiple departments, including the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Public Security.
