The figure was up 107.1 per cent when compared to the same period last year.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This growth comes in tax payments comes on the back of <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-ggr-reaches-mop15-21bn-in-june\" target=\"_blank\">gross gaming revenue (GGR)<\/a>\u00a0of MOP80.14bn, up 205.1 per cent year-on-year. In June alone, the government collected MOP6.02bn, reflecting a 5.6 per cent increase compared to the preceding month.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The rise in gaming tax revenue follows the implementation of Macau&#8217;s new 10-year gaming concessions on January 1 with an effective tax rate on casino GGR of 40 per cent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The government\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-ce-forecast-ggr-of-us16bn-for-2023\" target=\"_blank\">forecasts gross gaming revenue<\/a>\u00a0of\u00a0<strong>MOP130bn (US$16bn)\u00a0<\/strong>for 2023, generating taxes of MOP50.85bn this year.
