The last day of the listing of the shares will be May 15, with the listing to be cancelled from 9.00am on May 16.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The company said it will not apply for a review of the delisting decision made by the Listing Committee. It said: &#8220;All shareholders and investors of the company should note that after the last listing date, whilst the share certificates of the shares of the company will remain valid, the shares will not be listed on, and will not be tradeable on the Stock Exchange. Thereafter, the company will no longer be subject to the listing rules.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In January 2022, Genting&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/genting-hong-kong-considers-filing-for-liquidation\" target=\"_blank\">filed for liquidation<\/a>&nbsp;after a German court rejected a request&nbsp;<strong>to release US$88m for its shipyard unit MV Werften<\/strong>. Last July,&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/genting-hong-kong-subsidiaries-enter-into-insolvency-proceedings\" target=\"_blank\">the cruise ship operator<\/a>&nbsp;reported that various non-core subsidiaries had entered into insolvency proceedings in the relevant jurisdictions, including Australia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore and the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last September,&nbsp;<strong>Resorts World Cruises Pte Ltd<\/strong>, the company launched by Genting Hong Kong founder&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/is-genting-planning-to-launch-resorts-world-cruise-operations\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Lim Kok Thay<\/a>&nbsp;in April, purchased&nbsp;<strong>Star Market Holdings<\/strong>, the owner of Genting Hong Kong\u2019s cruise trademarks.&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Genting Hong Kong will be delisted due to its insolvency.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":176,"featured_media":26763,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"is_press_release":false,"is_interview":false,"is_opinion":false,"focusai_summary":"Genting Hong Kong is being delisted from the Hong Kong Stock Exchange effective May 16 due to its insolvency, following a German court's rejection of funding for its MV Werften unit.
