Some 30 per cent of its hotel rooms had been unused in the first quarter of 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking to the media, president and executive director <strong>Wilfred Wong Ying Wai<\/strong> said: &#8220;It was basically full during two of the five days. We also managed to achieve an occupancy rate of 97 per cent in three days.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the event,&nbsp;<strong>Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes<\/strong>, the director of the Macau Government Tourist Office, said only 2,000 hotel rooms were unavailable during the holiday period. The latest government data shows that as of March 2023,<strong>&nbsp;there are 126 hotels in Macau offering 39,000 rooms<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sands China reported <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/sands-china-posts-net-revenue-of-us1-28bn-for-q1\" target=\"_blank\">adjusted property EBITDA of MOP3.22 bn (US$398m)<\/a>, or about 45 per cent of 2019 levels, for Q1. It&#8217;s due to hold the opening of its<strong>&nbsp;Londoner Macao resort<\/strong>&nbsp;in Cotai in three weeks. Wong saod manpower challenges would be overcome ahead of the opening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The company is preparing for promotions in Singapore in early June and expanding offices abroad to attract more customers from Japan, South Korea, and Southeast Asia. The four-day 2023 Sands Shopping Carnival will take place between July 20 and 23, featuring 580 booths across 11 exhibition zones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Macau received 491,968 visitors during Labour Day holiday<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Preliminary data released by Macau\u2019s Public Security Police show the number of tourist arrivals during China\u2019s Labour Day period (April 29 to May 3) reached&nbsp;<strong>491,968<\/strong>. That\u2019s a daily&nbsp;<strong>average of just below 98,400<\/strong>.
