That&#8217;s a daily <strong>average of just below 98,400<\/strong>. The police did not provide a year-on-year comparison, but the number of arrivals on Sunday April 30 (133,911) was the highest daily total since early 2020 before the Covid-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Almost 62 per cent of tourists, approximately&nbsp;303,000, entered Macau through border checkpoints&nbsp;solely serving mainland China. <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-daily-ggr-to-rise-over-labour-day-holiday-analysts-say\" target=\"_blank\">Analysts at Credit Suisse<\/a>&nbsp;predicted daily gross gaming revenue (GGR) of&nbsp;<strong>up to MOP750m (US$92.8m)&nbsp;<\/strong>for the holiday period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The rise comes after Macau ended <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-lifts-all-quarantine-requirements-for-arrivals-from-mainland-china\" target=\"_blank\">travel restrictions related to the Covid-19 pandemic<\/a>&nbsp;in January, dropping testing requirements for travellers from mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. L. During Easter week,&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-receives-over-480000-visitors-during-easter-week\" target=\"_blank\">Macau received 480,000 visitors<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Macau has reported that&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-ggr-up-15-6-month-on-month-in-april\" target=\"_blank\">GGR for April<\/a>&nbsp;was&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-ggr-up-247\" target=\"_blank\">up 15.6 per cent month-on-month<\/a>&nbsp;from MOP12.73bn to MOP14.72bn (US$1.83bn). The figure was up 449.9 per cent when compared to last year and made April the best month since January 2020.
