That&#8217;s the highest since 1997 and up 10 per cent from <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/hk-jockey-club-posts-record-us238m-in-bets-during-the-chinese-new-year\" target=\"_blank\">HK$1.86bn (US$238m) in 2021<\/a>. There were 11 races this year and 84,394 people reportedly attended.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hong Kong racing continues on Sunday (29 January) with the G1 Stewards\u2019 Cup (1600m) and the Hong Kong Classic Mile (1600m).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last July,\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/hk-jockey-club-posts-record-turnover-of-us17-8bn-for-2021-22-season\" target=\"_blank\">the HKJC<\/a>\u00a0posted<strong>\u00a0turnover of HK$140bn (US$17.8bn)<\/strong>\u00a0for the 2021\/22 season. The HKJC hosted<strong>\u00a0836 horse races\u00a0<\/strong>domestically and broadcast 281 races from overseas.
