NagaWorld union representatives and company representatives will meet for the 23rd time since NagaWorld employees went on strike on December 18 2021 over <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/nagacorp-confirms-cut-jobs-due-to-economic-crisis\" target=\"_blank\">layoffs and pay cuts<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The meeting will be chaired by<strong>&nbsp;Tes Rukhaphal<\/strong>, head of the General Secretariat of the Labour Advisory Committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Union officials at NagaWorld are still calling for<strong> the reinstatement of laid-off workers<\/strong>, while the company insists it will not accept their return. According to the government, as of January 11,<strong> 255 of 373 former employees have accepted seniority payments <\/strong>to put an end to their employment contracts. However, 118 employees still refused to accept the payments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training stated: \u201cThe ministry urges the two sides to demonstrate mutual understanding in working to resolve this dispute.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;In order to maintain public order, we urge both parties to continue to work closely with the authorities in a peaceful, calm manner. In accordance with legal procedure, if the dispute cannot be resolved through mediation, the case will be referred to court.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to<strong>&nbsp;Khleang Soben<\/strong>, secretary-general of the Cambodian Workers&#8217; Rights Support Union at NagaWorld, the dispute has dragged on because the ministry has a &#8220;biased&#8221; relationship with the corporation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She also claimed that despite national and international law, workers are powerless and continue to suffer injustice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last October,&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/cambodian-government-denies-its-holding-up-nagaworld-labour-disputes\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training<\/a>&nbsp;issued a statement denying that it was responsible for stalled negotiations over the&nbsp;<strong>Nagaworld&nbsp;<\/strong>labour dispute.
