However, the drop was mainly due to&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-visitor-arrivals-down-98-8-in-july\" target=\"_blank\">lower tourist arrivals<\/a>&nbsp;to Macau due to Covid-19 outbreaks and associated travel restrictions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, authorities said the decrease in gaming-related crimes was also the results of a stronger police presence in the city&#8217;s casinos and nearby areas, which led to more inspections. There were<strong> 25 cases of gambling-related usury<\/strong> compared to 55 last year. As for illegal money-changing activities, cases dropped by 55.4 per cent to 2,899.
