The gaming rooms and tables in the Queensland properties will follow on July 3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Australia.- The Star Entertainment Group has announced The Star casino in Sydney has eased restrictions in compliance with government regulations, while gaming facilities at The Star Gold Coast and Treasury Brisbane will reopen from tomorrow (July 3).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Sydney venue <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/star-sydney-vip-loyalty\">reopened a month ago<\/a><\/em><\/strong> after a 10-week lockdown but only for 500 loyalty VIP guests. The visitation capacity was expanded to 900 invitation-only guests in June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a report this week, the company stated that since June 19, average daily slot and table gaming volumes were similar to those in private gaming rooms in the first half of the year. It said average spending was \u201cmaterially higher.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the first month of reopening, business performance at the casino was \u201csignificantly below normal levels\u201d but still in line with management expectations given operating restrictions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As of this month The Star Sydney will be able to host up to 5,000 people at a time, including loyalty members, general public and guests within the casino and open areas, always maintaining a minimum 4 square metres per person as required by the <strong><em>New South Whales government<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There will also be distancing between gaming machines and tables, where players will be asked to keep a 1.5-metre distance, and at least one person per group will be asked to register upon entry to be able to trace people in the event of contagion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The casino said in a press release: \u201cBased on historical visitation patterns, spatial distancing measures and capacity limits are expected to constrain visitation and revenue during peak periods (including Friday and Saturday nights)\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As for the Star Gold Coast and Treasury Brisbane in Queensland, the group is planning to reopen the gaming floor and private gaming rooms for the general public as well as loyalty members from July 3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Capacity limits for The Star Gold Coast casino will be around 2,600 people, and for Treasury Brisbane 2,300. Social distancing measures will also be in place in accordance with a property specific &#8220;Covid-safe&#8221; plan which the group presented to the Queensland Chief Health Officer for approval.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Sydney casino is now open to the general public.
