{"id":7587,"date":"2020-06-25T20:33:04","date_gmt":"2020-06-25T20:33:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/?p=7587"},"modified":"2026-04-24T04:09:17","modified_gmt":"2026-04-24T07:09:17","slug":"yokohama-confims-ir-in-2020-fiscal-budget","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/yokohama-confims-ir-in-2020-fiscal-budget","title":{"rendered":"Yokohama confims IR in 2020 fiscal budget"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The budget to promote the initiative remains the same despite the delayed schedule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Japan.- Yokohama city plans to stick to its initial budget for promotion of its planned integrated resort (IR) development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong><em>prefecture<\/em><\/strong> delayed the IR bidding process in April because of the impact of the Covid-19 crisis on travel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It has confirmed that the original amount of <strong><em><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/yokohama-delay-ir-schedule\" target=\"_blank\">JPY 400 million (US$3.7million)<\/a><\/em><\/strong> has been assigned in its 2020 fiscal budget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some questioned why the IR promotion budget had not been cut to use the money for Covid-19 response and recuperation of the local economy but Yokohama mayor Fumiko Hayashi said the prefecture was obliged to move forward with the timetable agreed by the national parliament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said: \u201cIR is a national project. We have received congressional vote to promote the project.
