Briefing sessions on the Sasebo City IR will take place in June with one-hour panels for potential operators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Japan.- Nagasaki prefecture has confirmed plans to hold briefing sessions on its request for proposals and policies to select potential operators for an Integrated Resort (IR) in Sasebo City.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sessions will take place during June, with one-hour panels for each operator, whose names will not be made public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They will include information and details about implementation policy, transportation measures and infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Candidates need proven experience running casinos or gaming facilities with more than 200 tables and 1,000 slot machines, or a casino facility or facilities with GGR above JPY100 billion (US$930 million).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nagasaki prefecture opened a new IR promotion office<\/a><\/em><\/strong> last march, which began working on April 1st to work towards development of a new IR in Sasebo City. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lockdown measures have not affected progress on the initiative, which it is estimated could generate from JPY610 billion (\u20ac5.1billion) to JPY810 billion (\u20ac6.8billion) in construction-related economic benefits, according to the prefecture\u2019s IR Basic Concept Plan<\/a><\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once the IR is operational, it could generate JPY320 billion (\u20ac2.7billion) to JPY420 billion (\u20ac3.5billion) each year in an economic ripple effect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The prefectural government says an IR scheme could create 630,000 to 840,000 construction-related jobs in Kyushu, and indirectly create jobs for 280,000 to 360,000 people when the resort comes into operation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
