The resorts and hotels operator has been sued in the United States along with 16 other companies over a USD$81 million heist in 2016.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Philippines.- Resorts & hotels operator Bloomberry has been sued in the United States by the Bangladesh Bank in relation to a US$81 million cyber-heist which took place in 2016.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bloomberry<\/em><\/strong> said in a statement that the company had been informed that the Bangladesh Bank had filed a civil complaint against them and 16 other Philippine entities at the New York State Court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bangladesh Bank has also appealed at the US Circuit Court of Appealsagainst the dismissal of its previous case against many of the same defendants in March.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bloomberry said: \u201cThe complaint in the State Court is for: conversion\/theft\/misappropriation; aiding and abetting the same; conspiracy to commit the same; Fraud (against RCBC); aiding and abetting and conspiracy to commit fraud; conspiracy to commit trespass against chattels; unjust enrichment; and return of money received.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The previous case was brought by the Bangladesh Bank to seek compensation for the $81 million that it lost when hackers, allegedly linked to North Korea, sent who sent multiple orders out of the bank\u2019s account with the Federal Reserve Bank of New York to fictitious accounts in the Rizal Commercial Banking Corp (RCBC) and were also allegedly funneled into Philippine casinos including Bloomberry\u2019s Solaire<\/a><\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
