{"id":6843,"date":"2020-05-28T12:21:26","date_gmt":"2020-05-28T12:21:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/?p=6843"},"modified":"2026-04-24T04:52:47","modified_gmt":"2026-04-24T07:52:47","slug":"australasian-gaming-expo-cancelled","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/australasian-gaming-expo-cancelled","title":{"rendered":"2020 Australasian Gaming Expo cancelled"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Australasian Gaming Expo is the latest to be cancelled due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Australia.- The 2020 Australasian Gaming Expo has been cancelled by its organisers due to restrictions on large gatherings as a result of Covid-19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The decision to cancel the event by Australia&#8217;s Gaming Technologies Association (GTA) is in conjunction with an updated Public Health Order issued on May 14 by the NSW Government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The order extends restrictions from June 29 to August 14, and the Expo had been scheduled to run from August 11-13, 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>GTA CEO, Chris Muir, said: &#8220;The government did announce a three-stage easing roadmap, but even when fully implemented that roadmap does not allow for more than 100 people to attend a venue such as ICC Sydney.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;ve already seen some significant initiatives from AGE exhibitors as they support businesses with technology and physical distancing measures.
