Macau Legend announced it expect to partially open a new gaming venue during the second half of the year, around mid August.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Laos.- Macau Legend has postponed the opening of an expansion to its Savan Legend Resorts Hotel and Entertainment Complex due to the Coronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to GGRAsia, the partial opening of the new venue, previously expected for the first quarter of 2020, will take place in mid August.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Savan Legend is located in Savannakhet, near the border with Thailand. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“There has been some delay in Savannakhet [Savan Legend] Phase 2 due to border closure,” Sheldon Trainor, a Macau Legend Executive Director, said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both Laos and Thailand imposed a controlled movement of people during the Covid-19 crisis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, after 33 consecutive days with no records of new infections in the country, Laos announced on May 15 the easing of some restrictions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

From Monday, public agencies and businesses have been able to reopen with infection-prevention measures in place. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But entertainment venues including nightclubs, karaoke venues, cinemas and casinos, have had to remain closed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Currently, we plan to partially open Phase 2 in mid-August and fully open [in] late September. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The Phase 2 expansion includes 40 suites, additional gaming, F&B [food and beverage] outlets, a pool and spa and a high-tech driving range,” Trainor added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In its 2019 annual report published in late April<\/strong><\/em><\/a>, Macau Legend noted its two new projects in Laos, Phase 2 of Savan Legend and another gaming venue called \u201cThe Thakhet Club\u201d, should be operational by the “second half of 2020”. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
