The federal government’s early release program of superannuation savings was originally intended to help citizens ease the financial burden of Covid-19 losses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But multiple instances have been reported of people using that money to gamble online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An industry source told Australian Financial Review<\/em><\/strong>: “We saw someone take out the whole AU$10,000 amount on Thursday and by Monday they had none left. From their records, we could see they\u2019d never been a gambler before.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
