{"id":6516,"date":"2020-05-18T11:10:43","date_gmt":"2020-05-18T11:10:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/?p=6516"},"modified":"2026-04-24T05:11:12","modified_gmt":"2026-04-24T08:11:12","slug":"laos-lift-casinos-closure","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/laos-lift-casinos-closure","title":{"rendered":"Laos to lift casino closure on June 1"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The government is easing Covid-19 lockdown measures with casinos set to reopen next month. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Laos.- The Laos government is easing border restrictions after almost two months of lockdown measures due to the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/topics\/coronavirus\" target=\"_blank\"><em><strong>Coronavirus pandemic<\/strong><\/em><\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But entertainment venues including casinos will have to wait until June 1 before they can reopen thier doors to the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The news comes from the Prime Minister\u2019s Office, which announced the lifting of measures in an official statement.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From now on, government offices will be allowed to resume operations as normal, but stay at home-work is strongly suggested where possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Official training courses, meetings, and seminars are allowed to take place, but celebratory parties remain cancelled.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Indoor and outdoor sports, restaurants, retail outlets, beauty salons, supermarkets and massage and spa providers will also be allowed to reopen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, entertainment venues, cinemas, karaoke bars, night markets, casinos, gaming shops and sports competitions involving a large number of people who cannot remain one meter apart will be suspended until June 1. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The country will continue to suspend all types of entry visas for citizens travelling from countries impacted by the pandemic.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The government is easing Covid-19 lockdown measures with casinos set to reopen next month.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":6519,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"is_press_release":false,"is_interview":false,"is_opinion":false,"focusai_summary":"The government of Laos is easing COVID-19 lockdown measures, allowing most businesses to resume operations.
