Japan.- Sega Sammy Holdings enjoyed a strong end to its financial year with sales and profits soaring despite the Covid-19 crisis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Net sales for the year ending March 31, 2020, reached JPY366.6 billion (US$3.4billion) up 10.5 per cent year on year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earnings for the year hit US$13.8 billion representing an impressive 421 per cent year-on-year increase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Growth came from Sega’s entertainment content division, which houses its video game business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company’s Phoenix Seagaia Resort in Japan registered net sales of JPY10.4billion but did not post a profit during the full-year period. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, the pachinko and pachislot machine segment of the business recorded net sales of JPY108.4 billion representing a 6.8 per cent YoY rise. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Operating income for the division was JPY24,9 billion, up 84.8 per cent from the previous year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
