{"id":5966,"date":"2020-04-27T00:31:03","date_gmt":"2020-04-27T00:31:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/?p=5966"},"modified":"2026-04-24T05:45:41","modified_gmt":"2026-04-24T08:45:41","slug":"genting-malaysia-closure-extension","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/genting-malaysia-closure-extension","title":{"rendered":"Genting Malaysia extends closure to May 12"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Genting properties will have been closed for a total of 56 days come the end of the latest lockdown extension in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Malaysia.- <em><strong>Genting Malaysia<\/strong><\/em> has extended the closure of its operations until at least May 12, following the government&#8217;s extension of the Covid-19 Movement Control Order (MCO).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Malaysia Prime Minister, Muhyiddin Yassin, announced the extension of the MCO on Friday (April 24).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Genting will keep their premises closed for the duration of that period, which will mean its properties will have been closed for at least 56 days come the end of the latest extension.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a statement on its website, Genting said: &#8220;Please be informed that Resorts World Genting, Resorts World Awana, Resorts World Kijal and Resorts World Langkawi will continue to be closed until May 12.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Operations at our Resorts will resume upon the lifting of the MCO. We will continue to monitor the situation and make the necessary announcements as more information becomes available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We would like to assure you that, despite the temporary closure, we have heightened our already stringent hygiene practices to safeguard the health and safety of all our guests and employees.
