{"id":5956,"date":"2020-04-24T12:23:39","date_gmt":"2020-04-24T12:23:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/?p=5956"},"modified":"2026-04-24T05:46:24","modified_gmt":"2026-04-24T08:46:24","slug":"malaysia-football-resume","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/malaysia-football-resume","title":{"rendered":"Request sent to resume M-League"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) has submitted an official request to resume operations of the M-League (Liga Super).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Malaysia.- The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) has submitted an official request to resume the M-League (Liga Super).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The request was sent to the National Security Council and the Ministry of Health asking their views and approval with regard to how the league can apply standard operating procedures so that the 2020 Liga Super (M-League) can be resumed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The league would only resume once the movement control order (MCO) is lifted, as the country continues to battle the Coronavirus outbreak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The current M-League season has seen four fixtures played for all but two teams, with Johor Darul Ta&#8217;zim sitting top of the table.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>FAM secretary-general Stuart Ramalingam said: &#8220;While FAM and MFL put the country\u2019s health aspects ahead of football, we also need to cooperate to find a way for football to resume and that is why we want to get expert advice from the relevant parties.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The FAM and MFL had previously postponed all football activities in the country effective March 16 following the global Coronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If the league were to return in May, it would follow the <a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/k-league-south-korea-return\"><em><strong>K League in South Korea in resuming football activities<\/strong><\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) has submitted an official request to resume operations of the M-League (Liga Super).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":5959,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"is_press_release":false,"is_interview":false,"is_opinion":false,"focusai_summary":"The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) has formally requested approval from the National Security Council and Ministry of Health to resume the M-League (Liga Super), which was suspended due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
