{"id":5915,"date":"2020-04-24T08:22:12","date_gmt":"2020-04-24T08:22:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/?p=5915"},"modified":"2026-04-24T05:48:37","modified_gmt":"2026-04-24T08:48:37","slug":"macau-two-hotels-quarantine-venues","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-two-hotels-quarantine-venues","title":{"rendered":"Macau: just two hotels being used as quarantine venues"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Sheraton Grand Macao has been removed from the list of properties being used as quarantine venues in the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Macau.- Ten hotels have now been <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-three-casinos-quarantine-hotels\">removed<\/a><\/em><\/strong> from the list of properties being used as quarantine venues in Macau, with just two currently being used to house foreign visitors entering the SAR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The properties still in use are the Pousada Marina Infante and Golden Crown China Hotel after the Sheraton Grand Macao was returned to its owners to be re-opened to the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last Monday, a total of 215 people were still undergoing a 14-day medical quarantine in the Sheraton Hotel, where around 500 rooms were being used.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to <em>Inside Asian Gaming<\/em>, a total of 163 people now remain in the two quarantine hotels, which have 598 rooms between them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Countries all over the world, especially nearby areas, have encouraged people to stay home,&#8221; officials from the Macao Government Tourism Office, said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We can see border and transportation restrictions in place around the world, so passenger flows and visitation have plunged sharply. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We have evaluated that the two hotels are enough for us at this moment.
