Macau.- The Macau Gaming Association alongside representatives from the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau and Labor Affairs Bureau met with the Secretary of Economy and Finance in order to discuss concerns related to future jobs prospects following lay offs due to Covid-19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Re-tendering of gaming licenses, employment of current employees, non-resident workers and non-gaming elements in the industry were the issues discussed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Macau Gaming Association Director, Lei Wai Nong, explained that workers were also concerned about their careers due to the pandemic and that he heard news online a few days ago that gaming workers were being asked by their employers take early retirement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While Macau\u2019s gaming operators have implemented several measures to retain workers during the pandemic, the director asked the government to implement certain financial measures, such as extending the tax payment deadline, to support those operators. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
