{"id":5692,"date":"2020-04-17T08:24:07","date_gmt":"2020-04-17T08:24:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/?p=5692"},"modified":"2026-04-24T06:01:59","modified_gmt":"2026-04-24T09:01:59","slug":"kangwon-land-extends-closure-may-casino","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/kangwon-land-extends-closure-may-casino","title":{"rendered":"Kangwon Land extends closure to May 4"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The period of the closure has been repeatedly extended in line with continuing concerns about the spread of Coronavirus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>South Korea.- <strong><em>Kangwon Land<\/em><\/strong>, the only casino in South Korea where locals are permitted to gamble, will remain closed until May 4 due to the Coronavirus outbreak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The casino has extended the <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/kangwon-land-casino-closure-3\">closure  period several times<\/a><\/em><\/strong> already. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It originally shut down gaming operations for three days from February 23 to February 26 before extending the closure for three more days to February 29.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Casino management then took the decision to extend the closure once again for a further seven days March 15 and then for a further week. Another extension was announced until Mid-April.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Asia Gaming Brief, the company\u2019s resort facilities may be reopened in stages, though no precise schedule has been provided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The closure is only the second time the casino has shut its doors to the public in its history.
