Armenia.- Gambling advertising has been banned in Armenia during the Coronavirus pandemic that has swept the globe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new measures were announced by Armenian Deputy Justice Minister, Vahe Danielyan, as the country battles the spread of Covid-19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to reports, scientific, educational, sports and cultural programs sponsored advertising will be allowed but the advertising of gambling, sweepstakes and strip clubs will be strictly prohibited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Free social advertising will be broadcast from midnight to 6pm, with paid advertising in primetime slots from 6pm to midnight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The country is trying to curb gambling as it fights Covid-19. As of April 15th, there are 1,111 cases in the country with 17 confirmed deaths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Armenia has already imposed many restrictions on gambling advertising in recent years. In 2018, the government changed rules to only permit gambling commercials to air between 10pm and 6am.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
