{"id":5370,"date":"2020-04-07T12:15:28","date_gmt":"2020-04-07T12:15:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/?p=5370"},"modified":"2026-04-24T06:20:36","modified_gmt":"2026-04-24T09:20:36","slug":"philippines-coronavirus-financial-aid","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/philippines-coronavirus-financial-aid","title":{"rendered":"Philippine operators deliver aid during Covid-19 crisis"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gaming operators in the Philippines are continuing to pour financial aid into the economy to help mitigate the impact of Coronavirus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Philippines.- Gaming operators in the Philippines are continuing to pour financial aid into the economy to help mitigate the impact of Coronavirus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong><em>Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR)<\/em><\/strong> and the Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO) are assisting various local government units (LGUs) in Luzon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">POGOs have purchased 47,000 food packs and have already been delivered by PAGCOR to communities in the National Capital Region (NCR), Benguet, Bulacan, Pampanga and Tarlac.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">25,000 packs were delivered from March 21st to 24th, while the second batch of 22,872 food packs were distributed from March 25th to April 3rd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">POGOs have also allotted P60 million for the procurement of food items for frontliners and affected communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They have also donated P90million for medical supplies in public hospitals that are directly dealing with Coronavirus patients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">PAGCOR&#8217;s Vice President for Corporate Social Responsibility, Jimmy Bondoc said: &#8220;We have started distributing protective gears like face masks, gloves and personal protective equipment last March 25 at the Lung Center of the Philippines. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Also, on April 4, we delivered 12,000 face masks and 150 personal protective equipment (PPEs) to Ramos General Hospital in Tarlac.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Last week, <a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/pagcor-revenue-philippines-casino-closures\"><strong><em>PAGCOR announced big losses<\/em><\/strong><\/a> during the Coronavirus lockdown in the country.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Gaming operators in the Philippines are continuing to pour financial aid into the economy to help mitigate the impact of Coronavirus.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"is_press_release":false,"is_interview":false,"is_opinion":false,"focusai_summary":"Gaming operators in the Philippines, including PAGCOR and POGOs, are providing substantial financial aid and supplies to mitigate the economic and health impacts of the Coronavirus pandemic.
