{"id":4557,"date":"2020-03-17T11:27:23","date_gmt":"2020-03-17T11:27:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/?p=4557"},"modified":"2026-04-24T07:02:38","modified_gmt":"2026-04-24T10:02:38","slug":"macau-gaming-revenue","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-gaming-revenue","title":{"rendered":"Macau: GGR to dip 80% in March"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>According to analysts, the month will end with slightly better results but the overall market is &#8220;still bad&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Macau.- <a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-fall-gaming-revenue\"><em><strong>Analysts have forecast a GGR fall in the range of 70 percent to 80 percent<\/strong><\/em><\/a> for March in year-on-year terms. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The result would come off the back of a tough February, where GGR levels were the lowest recorded since 2004.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>JP Morgan Securities (Asia Pacific) Ltd revealed in a note that March gaming revenue in Macau was faring \u201ca little better, but still bad\u201d compared to the prior month. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According with the brokerage, Macau GGR for the first 15 days of March was estimated at MOP2.85 billion (\u20ac319 million), \u201cdown 75 percent to 80 percent year-on-year\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We think week-on-week trend is almost meaningless at this point as it is will continue to be extremely volatile, driven by a small group of players,\u201d said analysts DS Kim, Derek Choi and Jeremy An.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They added: \u201cVIP seems to be faring better (down 70 percent to 75 percent year-on-year) than mass (down 80 percent to 85 percent), which is also within expectations and not very telling\u201d in terms of meaningful patterns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sanford C.
