Delta Corp forced to close its casino in Sikkim as part of efforts to halt Coronavirus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

India.- Delta Corp\u00a0share price plunged 8 per cent today after the company closed its casinos in Sikkim as part of the measures to contain the outbreak of Coronavirus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company took the decision following the instructions of the government of Sikkim that has, among other measures, mandated the closure of casinos, discotheques, cinema halls and gymnasiums or fitness clubs from now until further notice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Delta Corp expects Sikkim will remain closed until April 15, 2020, subject to further directions from the government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sikkim’s measures come after the Indian State of Goa announced it would close all casinos<\/em><\/strong><\/a> as part of a wide-range of measures announced by the government to combat the spread of Coronavirus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not only casinos, but education institutes, gyms, spas, pubs, clubs, public swimming pools and theatres in Goa will remain closed until 31 March 2020, although restaurants and malls will remain open.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This news comes just days after the organisers of SPiCE India took the decision to\u00a0postpone the expo<\/a><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0scheduled\u00a0 25-27 March 2020 at the Goa Marriott Resort & Spa.
