{"id":4488,"date":"2020-03-16T10:03:42","date_gmt":"2020-03-16T10:03:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/?p=4488"},"modified":"2026-04-24T07:03:40","modified_gmt":"2026-04-24T10:03:40","slug":"pagcor-gaming-casino-operations-manila","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/pagcor-gaming-casino-operations-manila","title":{"rendered":"PAGCOR suspends all gaming  operations in Manila"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Activity to be suspended until April 12 as country goes into lockdown as part of efforts to combat Coronavirus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Philippines.- The Philippines gaming regulator <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/philippines-pagcor-gaming-donation\">PAGCOR<\/a><\/em><\/strong> has announced the suspension of all gaming operations in Manila after President Rodrigo Duterte imposed a \u201ccommunity quarantine\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The suspension applies to land-based casinos, both PAGCOR-owned and operated as well as all licensed and integrated resort-casinos, electronic game (eGames), bingo (traditional and electronic), sports betting, poker and slot machine clubs, and other activities regulated by PAGCOR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Activity will be suspended until April 12.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe state-run gaming agency has decided to prohibit public gatherings in its gaming venues and in the licensed gaming properties that it regulates,\u201d PAGCOR said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis measure is intended to ensure the safety of both gaming employees and customers and eventually, the general public,\u201d the regulator added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last Friday, Duterte suspended mass gatherings with punishment under the penal code should the restriction be ignored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also, all school classes in Metro Manila were suspended until 12 April and the government has called for flexible work arrangements in the private sector, with manufacturing and retail businesses encouraged to stay open but with social distancing and a minimal work force.<br><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Activity to be suspended until April 12 as country goes into lockdown as part of efforts to combat Coronavirus.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"is_press_release":false,"is_interview":false,"is_opinion":false,"focusai_summary":"PAGCOR has mandated the suspension of all gaming operations across Manila, Philippines, until April 12, in response to President Duterte's \"community quarantine\" measures against Coronavirus.
