Macau.- Just 50,000 visitors were recorded in Macau since the city’s casinos reopened their doors on 20 February. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The figures, reported in GGR Asia, are in stark contrast to the average daily tourist visitors of 108,000 recorded in 2019. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of the 50,000 visitors to Macau over the February 20 to 28 period, 26,000 arrived from Hong Kong, 20,000 from mainland China and 4,000 from elsewhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Travel restrictions, including visa bans and flight cancellations, were also blamed for the low visitor numbers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
