{"id":4000,"date":"2020-03-02T08:32:26","date_gmt":"2020-03-02T08:32:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/?p=4000"},"modified":"2026-04-24T07:26:20","modified_gmt":"2026-04-24T10:26:20","slug":"kangwon-casino-closure","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/kangwon-casino-closure","title":{"rendered":"Kangwon Land extends closure until March 9"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Casino operator revises projected loss for the closure period to KRW22 billion (US$18.1 million).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>South Korea.- Kangwon Land, the only casino in <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/topics\/south-korea\">South Korea<\/a><\/em><\/strong> where locals are permitted to gamble, will remain closed until 9 March due to Coronavirus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The casino had originally shut down gaming operations for three days from <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/kangwon-land-casino-coronavirus\">Sunday 23 February<\/a><\/em><\/strong> to Wednesday 26 February before later extending the closure for three more days <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/kangwon-land-casino-closure\">until 29 February<\/a><\/em><\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over the weekend, casino management took the decision to extend the closure period until at least next Monday.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The closure is only the second time the casino has shut its doors to the public in its history.
