{"id":3926,"date":"2020-02-27T10:21:25","date_gmt":"2020-02-27T10:21:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/?p=3926"},"modified":"2026-04-24T07:30:21","modified_gmt":"2026-04-24T10:30:21","slug":"sands-china-donates-coronavirus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/sands-china-donates-coronavirus","title":{"rendered":"Sands China ups donations in fight against Coronavirus"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Casino operator Sands China donates a further \u20ac188,900 to relief efforts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Macau.- Casino operator Sands China Ltd has announced another donation of MOP 1.65 million (\u20ac188,900) to 33 elderly centers and rehabilitation clinics helping to fight the Coronavirus outbreak. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> The gambling operator has already donated hundreds of thousands of <a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/sands-china-casino-donation\">face  masks and millions of dollars to relief efforts.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The donation will support other measures to combat the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each of the 33 beneficiaries will receive MOP 50,000 (\u20ac5,700) that will be used for cleaning and sanitizing the centers and for purchasing hygiene products for additional preventive measures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAs Macao works to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, Sands China is pleased to be able to use our coronavirus relief fund to assist Macao\u2019s elderly homes and rehabilitation centers in keeping their residents and service users safe and healthy,\u201d said Dr. Wilfred Wong, President of Sands China Ltd.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are grateful to the Social Welfare Bureau for their efficient coordination, assistance, and support, and we hope all in Macao will continue working together to keep the city safe during this trying time, under the guidance of the government\u2019s virus prevention efforts\u201d, he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This action is part of a bigger donation that began a few weeks ago when <a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/sjm-sands-china-donations\"><em><strong>Sands China donated MOP25 million (\u20ac2.8 million) to relief efforts<\/strong><\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The company explained that the money donated to Chinese and Macau authorities is \u201cto help address the current public health challenges caused by the outbreak of the new coronavirus\u201d.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Casino operator Sands China donates a further \u20ac188,900 to relief efforts.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":3931,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"is_press_release":false,"is_interview":false,"is_opinion":false,"focusai_summary":"Sands China Ltd. has committed an additional MOP 1.65 million (\u20ac188,900) to support 33 elderly and rehabilitation centers in Macau, augmenting its broader MOP 25 million (\u20ac2.8 million) relief fund for COVID-19 efforts.
