The Gaelic Players Association (GPA) wants the Irish government to ban sports betting and gambling advertising from live broadcasts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The body wants to get all games of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) stripped of all gaming-related content.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s clear from the ESRI Report that gambling is an issue that concerns inter-county players,\u201d said GPA CEO Paul Flynn<a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/ukgc-addison-global-gaming\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr Flynn referred to the Economic and Social Research Institute report, which revealed most players engage gambling regularly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBoth the GAA and the GPA have long been leaders in this area,\u201d Flynn added. \u201cWe\u2019ll now work with the Central Council to take another big step towards removing the link between gambling and our games.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Should the Irish body get sports betting and gambling ads of GAA games, it\u2019d be a major move against the industry in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Central Council will discuss the motion and the GPA hopes the rule change to go live in 2021.
