The report\u2019s executive summary says that &#8220;<strong>the Program is sufficiently developed for the TSEG Board<\/strong> to consider commencing the execution phase.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The report finds that:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The Program features clear Workstream Problem Statements\/root causes, Workstream Target States, and Milestones;<\/li><li>The scope of the Program is designed to address the root causes identified to date, as well as the overall themes and actions raised in&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/star-not-suitable-to-hold-casino-licence-in-sydney-counsel-tells-inquiry\" target=\"_blank\">the Bell and Gotterson Reports<\/a>, acknowledging TSEG intends to investigate potential root causes further as part of the Program;<\/li><li>TSEG has arrangements in place to govern and oversee Program delivery;<\/li><li>TSEG has identified individual executives who are accountable for Program design and implementation;<\/li><li>The overall timeline for the design and implementation of changes proposed under the Program is reasonable for a program of this scale and complexity; and<\/li><li>TSEG has completed preliminary funding and resourcing forecasts, projecting a significant investment.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>A week ago, the&nbsp;<strong>New South Wales Independent Casino Commission<\/strong>&nbsp;(NICC)&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/nicc-hits-the-star-with-fine-and-suspends-sydney-casino-licence\" target=\"_blank\">suspended The Star Entertainment\u2019s casino licence<\/a>&nbsp;in the state.&nbsp; It also fined the casino operator&nbsp;<strong>AU$100m<\/strong>&nbsp;and appointed a manager,&nbsp;<strong>Nicholas Weeks<\/strong>, until the regulator can determine whether The Star can achieve suitability following matters identified in the Bell Review.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NICC chief commissioner<strong>&nbsp;Philip Crawford<\/strong> said Weeks had been appointed to allow The Star\u2019s Sydney casino can remain operational during the operator\u2019s licence suspension.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Queensland\u2019s review of&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/queensland-attorney-general-receives-final-report-on-the-star\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Star Entertainment Group<\/a>&nbsp;also found the casino operator to be unsuitable to continue holding a casino licence in the state.&nbsp;<strong>Robert Gotterson AO KC&nbsp;<\/strong>reached an open finding in his report but Queensland Attorney-General Shannon Fentiman says the operator is unfit to run its Queensland venues.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Allen &amp; Overy&#8217;s report recommends The Star Entertainment commence its remediation programme to improve risk, compliance and culture.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":176,"featured_media":26456,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"is_press_release":false,"is_interview":false,"is_opinion":false,"focusai_summary":"Allen & Overy Consulting has issued its initial report on The Star Entertainment Group's remediation program, deeming it sufficiently developed for execution.
