{"id":33922,"date":"2022-09-29T07:54:32","date_gmt":"2022-09-29T10:54:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/?p=33922"},"modified":"2026-04-23T04:26:40","modified_gmt":"2026-04-23T07:26:40","slug":"genting-plans-to-increase-capacity-of-malaysian-ir","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/genting-plans-to-increase-capacity-of-malaysian-ir","title":{"rendered":"Genting plans to increase capacity of Malaysian IR"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Three new rides will be added to the recently opened Genting SkyWorlds theme park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Malaysia.- Genting Malaysia plans to increase the capacity of Resorts World Genting and add three new rides at the&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/genting-skyworlds-to-launch-next-week\" target=\"_blank\">Genting SkyWorlds theme park<\/a>&nbsp;that opened this year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In an investor presentation, the company said it \u201caims to optimize yield contributions by focussing on key business segments and database marketing efforts.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It added: \u201cContinued ramp-up of RWG\u2019s operations whilst capitalizing on demand for integrated resort offerings along with Leverage existing assets to attract foreign and domestic visitation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Malaysia\u2019s only casino resort saw visitor numbers&nbsp;<strong>quadruple in the first half of the year, from 2.1 million in H1 2021 to 9.9 million<\/strong>. Room sales increased nine times from 0.1 room nights to 0.9 room nights, and the IR&#8217;s membership base grew from 5.2 million to 5.3 million, adding 200,000 new members year-on-year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/genting-malaysia-revenue-up-166-in-q2\" target=\"_blank\">Revenue was up 166 per cent<\/a>&nbsp;year-on-year to MYR2.18bn (US$486.5m) in the second quarter.&nbsp;<strong>Leisure and hospitality revenue&nbsp;<\/strong>in Malaysia increased five times to MYR1.31bn.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Three new rides will be added to the recently opened Genting SkyWorlds theme park.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":176,"featured_media":18062,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"is_press_release":false,"is_interview":false,"is_opinion":false,"focusai_summary":"Genting Malaysia plans to expand its Resorts World Genting integrated resort in Malaysia, including the addition of three new rides to the Genting SkyWorlds theme park.
