It made the request to halt trading in accordance with ASX Listing Rule 17.1.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Star requested that the trading halt will remain in place until the release of the report or the commencement of trading on Wednesday September 14, whichever is earlier.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The company said: &#8220;The Star is not aware of any reason why the trading halt should not be granted, nor is it aware of any other information required to be provided to the market or ASX in relation to the trading halt.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier this month,\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/ilga-appoints-independent-expert-to-oversee-star-sydney\" target=\"_blank\">the Independent Liquor &amp; Gaming Authority<\/a>\u00a0appointed\u00a0<strong>Wexted Advisors<\/strong>\u00a0as an independent observer to act on its behalf to observe and\u00a0<strong>monitor operations and internal procedures\u00a0<\/strong>at The Star Sydney.\u00a0It said it had made the decision due to the serious matters uncovered in its review into the casino and the potential for ongoing compliance failures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Star has stated that it is committed to working with Wexted and providing full access to all information requested.
