Taiwan extends travel restrictions for Macau and Hong Kong as Coronavirus outbreak worsens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
Taiwan.- Taiwanese authorities have extended travel restrictions for Macau and Hong Kong residents, the island\u2019s Mainland Affairs Council announced today according to news agency Reuters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The restrictions apply to people on business trips or those being transferred by multinational companies, as well as the children and wives of Taiwanese residents living abroad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The measures bolster the actions the region has taken to contain the spread of the Coronavirus. Taiwan has already suspended entry for travellers coming from mainland China and is not issuing new visas for Hong Kong and Macau residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hong Kong and Macau students studying in Taiwan are also not allowed back into the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Taiwan authorities had previously required those entering the country from Hong Kong or Macau to self-quarantine themselves for 14 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
