closed all 41 of its casinos<\/a><\/em><\/strong> last Tuesday for a period of two weeks in a bid to prevent the deadly Coronavirus from spreading further.<\/p>\n\n\n\nFive hotels with their combined 1957 rooms closed last week and this week Sofitel Macau at Ponte 16 along with the Legend Hotel and Rocks Hotel at Macau Fisherman\u2019s Wharf, plus Melco\u2019s Altira, have also decided to shut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ponte 16, where Sofitel Macau is located, announced on Friday that the entire property would remain closed until city-wide operations resume on 20 February.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe casinos, F&B outlets, leisure facilities and shuttle bus service of Ponte 16 Resort, Macau, are temporarily closed until further notice,\u201d Ponte 16 Resort said in a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Grand Harbour Hotel and 15 guest houses have also shut taking the total number of hotel establishments already closed to 23. According to the latest data from the Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO), Macau the city has a total of 121 hotel establishments with 38,100 rooms.
