According to a statement issued by the company, the casino will open on August 8. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Crown Sydney has two VIP gaming floors \u2013 the Crystal Room and the Mahogany Room \u2013 and a private salon. According to the company, the Crystal Room gaming floor will open on August 8 with the Mahogany Room to follow later. \u00a0Gaming will be for <strong>VIP members <\/strong>and their guests only.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Crown Sydney chief executive\u00a0<strong>Simon McGrath\u00a0<\/strong>also said there would be 160 gaming tables and 70 electronic gaming tables available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In June,\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/crown-sydney-finally-allowed-to-start-gaming-operations\" target=\"_blank\">the Independent Liquor and Gaming Authority (ILGA)<\/a>\u00a0in New South Wales granted approval for\u00a0<strong>Crown Sydney\u00a0<\/strong>to commence gaming operations with a <strong>conditional licence\u00a0<\/strong>that will expire on December 31, 2023, with the potential for full certification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Crown Sydney had<strong> already opened non-gaming operations<\/strong>, having previously gained an alcohol licence, but the launch of the casino itself was held up due to the ILGA\u2019s inquiry into Crown Resorts\u2019 suitability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>McGrath said: &#8220;We are committed to\u00a0<strong>delivering a safe and responsible gaming environment for all<\/strong>, and Crown Sydney&#8217;s restricted gaming facility has been designed with the highest levels of governance and compliance.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Crown Melbourne special manager releases first activity report<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Stephen O\u2019Bryan QC&nbsp;<\/strong>released his first activity report as special manager at Crown Melbourne. O\u2019Bryan was appointed to the role by&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/crown-resorts-found-unsuitable-to-operate-crown-melbourne\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Judge Raymond Finkelstein<\/a>, who led the state of Victoria\u2019s inquiry into the casino operator.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Several positive steps have been taken by Crown Resorts to address the issues raised by the Royal Commission, including changes to its governance structures, board and senior leadership positions, policies and procedures, and systems and controls.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In December 2023,\u00a0the special manager will deliver a final report to the VGCCC and the minister for consumer affairs, gaming and liquor regulation.
