That same year, casinos on the Las Vegas Strip in Las Vegas, Nevada, had a GGR of nearly US$6.59bn, according to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also on the CNBC panel was\u00a0<strong>Robert Goldstein<\/strong>, chairman and CEO of Las Vegas Sands Corp. He admitted that it was a difficult moment. He said: &#8220;It\u2019s a tough time. You\u2019ve got to basically hunker down, and wait for it to turn.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The third participant was\u00a0<strong>Craig Billings<\/strong>, CEO of Wynn Resorts. He said: &#8220;The only thing that keeps me awake at night about Macau is the condition of my team.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The government of Macau has decided to\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macau-shuts-all-casinos-for-a-week-amid-rise-in-covid-19-cases\" target=\"_blank\">temporarily shut casino venues<\/a> until July 18. Until now, casinos had remained open, although with limited staffing and close to zero business.
