The Grand Dragon, a casino hotel in the Taipa district of Macau, controlled by Golden Dragon and operated by Melco, will now remain open until December 31.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Golden Dragon\u2019s casinos together hold 200 gaming tables, accounting for around&nbsp;<strong>21 per cent of the 930 tables&nbsp;<\/strong>at Macau\u2019s satellite casinos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/macaus-gaming-law-amendment-bill-approved\" target=\"_blank\">The new gaming law<\/a>\u00a0approved by the Legislative Assembly requires casinos to be run on assets\u00a0<strong>owned by the gaming operators<\/strong>. However, authorities extended the original<strong>\u00a0three-year grace period\u00a0<\/strong>to allow satellite casinos time to resolve ownership issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Only <a href=\"https:\/\/focusgn.com\/asia-pacific\/galaxy-entertainment-to-close-two-satellite-casinos\">two of Macau\u2019s satellite casinos<\/a> have ended their operations for now:\u00a0<strong>Rio Casino and President Casino<\/strong>, two satellite casinos run by\u00a0<strong>Galaxy Entertainment Group<\/strong>.
